When a parent uploads their DNA together with their child, we can show you exactly which alleles came from which side. That's useful for risk-assessment (a heterozygous BRCA finding in a child is more meaningful when you know which parent carries it), for understanding why one sibling responds to a medication and another doesn't, and for planning future pregnancies through carrier compatibility.
